Robert Evans, Co-Founder and Co-Director

When Robert first learned about the national Community Acupuncture Movement he said he thought he'd found the best playground ever!
A longtime community organizer with both nonprofits and for-profits, Robert quickly recognized how that grassroots health care movement was making history - i.e. in how it was successfully making quality health care services accessible and affordable all across America. And so it was an easy decision for Robert and his wife, Nancy, to launch Fort Collins CommUnity Acupuncture, now known as Thrive CommUnity Acupuncture.
A serial entrepreneur and social entrepreneur, Robert has served on numerous nonprofit, governmental and business advisory boards related to health and human services as well as education reform. Serving on the executive team of Larimer County government's Community Action Board, Robert was instrumental in introducing William Edward Deming's manufacturing-based Total Quality Management principles to the world of health and human services organizations on a national level. He has received a number of awards and recognition for his community service work, including Outstanding Small Business of the Year for National Philanthropy Day through the Colorado Association of Nonprofit Organizations (CANPO), a write-up in United Way's national magazine, and distinguished service recognition by Larimer County's Community Action Board. Robert is currently an Advisory Board member to Front Range Community College's Holistic Health & Wellness Program, as well as a Northern Colorado Steering Committee member with Co-operate Colorado (dedicated to creating universal health care in Colorado).

Nancy Evans, Co-Founder and Co-Director

For many years, Nancy has held the vision for a wellness center where practitioners would come together to offer truly collaborative health care. This dream is now a reality carried out by all of the practitioners at Thrive CommUnity Acupuncture.
A Registered Nurse for over 30 years, Nancy moved to Fort Collins in 2004 for love! Fortunately it worked out and she and Robert recently celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary. Retired from nursing, Nancy launched a career in the new field of Brain Integration Therapy in 2005 and created Open Pathways to Learning with Robert's support. Over the last ten years she has helped hundreds of children and adults overcome symptoms of learning disorders, stress, anxiety, and depression.
In 2012 she developed a new energy medicine technique with her friend and colleague, Harolyn Ellison, now called Integrative Alignment Energy Work. She says, "This is the most excited I have been about my work because I've never seen transformations happen this quickly and deeply with anything else I've done. IA goes directly to the deeply hidden subconscious beliefs and supports their gentle release. From there, clients discover a new sense of who they are and begin to make their choices in life from there." Most recently Nancy has developed a comprehensive IA Energy Work Training program. She also loves to teach meditation and spiritual growth classes! Nancy has a successful private practice at FCCAM.
Nancy also oversees the clinic operations, Thrive reception, massage and acupuncture teams and pitches in where needed.
